Tasteful Celebration Ordered

On this day twenty-five years ago, the earth did shake and the heavens were split asusunder. The animals were silent and the oceans did rage, for on this day was born the mighty Raksha, most feared of the BCPs, revered X-Men continuity wonk, and consort of His Sinfulness the Black Pope. The Dark Pontiff declares that the Flock should give forth a mighty cyber-shout in her honor!

Ok, seriously - she hates her birthday, so leave her a tasteful message here. She will, no doubt, swear eternal fiery vengeance upon me for mentioning this on the blog, but some well-placed chocolate should defuse that problem...

Yea, it is benevolent that the gods were fit to send you to us as I in my capacity of the Peacetime BCP leader could never kick ass as you do.

Happy Birthday!

Awww, that's sweet!

While I do indeed hate my birthday, I love my friends, so when they say nice things about me or anything that might indicate they are glad I'm around, that makes me happy.

Fanks!

In honor of her bithday, a reading from the Book of Raksha:

Stan Lee is my Shepard; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in first edition comics; He leadeth me beside first editions. He restoreth my story line; He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for Mystique's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of shadow of meat, I will fear no pork; for Stan is with me; thy pen and thy ink, they comfort me. Thou drawest a panel before me in the presence of mine enemies (the wankers); Thou annointest my head with noserings; My brain runneth over.

Surely Wolverine and Cyclops shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of Xmen forever.

Happy B-Day Chris! (Not sure if I spelled that right?)

So, who is your favorite "X" character?

Big Gay Jim: *wipes tear away* That was truly a thing of beauty. I'm totally printing that out and posting it over my desk in my office.

Clayton: Your birthday is the 21st? Happy birthday! My friends Tina (best friend from high school) and Becky (friend from freshman year of college) both have their birthdays today too. It's impossible to plan surprise parties with birth dates like that.

Mandy: Fanks! *kiss* *spank*

Modig_Bjorn: Fanks! And yeah, you spelled that right :) My favoritie X-Men character would have to be Mystique. She's such a snarky badass. Deadpool is a close runner up, though. Sociopathy was never so hilarious! I also have a major soft spot for the original New Mutants (esp. Cannonball, Magik, Warlock, and Mirage), Pete Wisdom, Meltdown, the Runaways, and Generation X (except for M, who I always want to belt across the face).

Well I'm truly honored that you liked it. It was a rum-induced epiphany. ;)

Chris, can you reccomend the Cable/Deadpool series? I've heard good things, but I can't find the first 2 or 3 trades collecting the start of the series. Let me know if you have any issues you wanna unload.

Raksha said...

Well, I don't have any Cable & Deadpool issues that I'm getting rid of. If I was living in Laramie, I'd just loan you the whole run. Sorry!

However, you should check Lone Star Comics or Midtown Comics. They ship all over the country and their prices are reasonable. Midtown Comics has every TPB and everything is discounted. Lone Star Comics has an absolutely insane back issue collection. They have, like, every single back issue.

Yes. Happy birthday. The image is priceless as well.

Thanks Raksha! I'll check Midtown out!
