The Pope Demands Nostalgia

Frequently, the Dampyre Zombie Lord has great blogging ideas, and today was no exception. So, instead of another angst-filled rant on the soul-killing enui of academia, I have instead lifted the following directly from him:

Memory lane Message: If you read this, even if we don't speak often, you must post a comment on my page with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want -- good or bad, just as long as it happened Think long and hard now!! Then post this up yourself and see what people remember about you.

See? I told you it was a good idea. Make it so.

For my part, one memory I have is of talking late at night at Rachel and Abra's place, as they slept, with you, Abe's sister, and Brit. We were talking about inconvienient pregnancies and I said the line, "Oh well, you can always drink the baby to death."
You did a double take, laughed and said, "You are evil sometimes" I think this memory stands out as one of the few times I got you to laugh out loud/almost shock you.

I like that Dampyre Zombie Lord title, btw.

I remember the night we met at the dinner for Turner at Altitude's. I mainly just came to hang out with Jenn, who I hadn't seen all semester really, but I ended up talking to you most of the night. Or rather, laughing my ass off while you talked to me.

One specific thing that I remember laughing about was you talking about your weight. You said you kept gaining weight, but wasn't getting all that bigger. Just more dense, really. One day, you'd just collapse in on yourself and be about the size of a golf ball with the gravitational pull of a white dwarf. Heh. If only you knew that you'd one day fairly soon you'd be turning into a skinny bitch.

Anyway, I remember going home that night and talking on the phone with my mom and telling her about how I'd finally met "The Kilt Guy" and he was frickin' hilarious!

My very first memory of you is from before we were even really friends. In Aronstein's general lit class. You sat on one side of the room, while I was on the other. After about two weeks of having the conversations carried by us she would start choosing only one of us to allow to talk. Almost a lesser evil decision. At that point I was hooked. Or maybe it was that you wore the kilt...

i think one of my first memories of you is the night that we all went out to shari's after the graduation party and i was introduced to the ways of the flock. ie, fork sculptures among various other oddities. good times.

There was that afternoon we spent sitting on the futon and talking about the future. It was a great conversation, but the bit I remember best was your insistence that should I get into trouble you would come save me; there was some machete and kilt-in-the-jungle imagery that I particularly enjoyed. It was more violence that I need in a day, but it so genuine that it seemed an insanely sweet gesture.

I've never thought of myself as needing much protection, but it's nice to know that if drug lords get a hold of me, someone is coming to help out. Thanks, Linus.

I'll always remember our first kiss.... OOPS!, did I just blurt that out? Sorry I got you sick, by the way.

No really, I remember when you came up on one of my hiking expeditions and took the hard way up the mountain side with Clay. Your knees were killing you and you were like, "I'm just fine, don't worry about me.... Ouch! OWW!... fuck that's not supposed to bend that way. Give me some duct-tape and a screwdriver, I'll be fine."

It went something like that... I think.

I remember driving up and down the California Interstates for hours talking and trying to decide what we were hungry for and finally finding this awesome oriental seafood place because we couldn't make up our mind... beware the little oil soaked peppers!
